STRONG LOVE

10/30/2016

October 30th. 10:00 AM. Twenty three years ago at Westin Gardens in Fort Worth. Outdoor wedding and it was 19 degrees. A cold front had blown in over night. The north wind was blowing enough to send wind chill values waaay south. It was clear blue sky and sunny but It was freaking cold!
This was the first wedding Randy and Sue Westin had ever had at their place and weren't exactly sure sure just what to do.
Lorna had on my long johns under her wedding dress, I had on a tux that at least had a few layers to it. Whitney, my thirteen year old daughter was my best girl and Anna, Lorna's thirteen year old daughter was the maid of honor - both in short sleeve dresses and shivering. A lot.

After the ceremony Randy and Sue opened up their small, one bathroom sandstone house to us and the entire wedding party!
I remember Lorna's dad smiling and saying "that's some strong love."
He was right.
Happy anniversary to this amazing woman - and thanks for puttin' up with me : )
Here's to many more adventures. ❤️
